Long Time

Well I've slacked on keeping up this journal, but here I go again. We've been having some storms here in Indiana. At one time I looked out the window and saw quarter size hail coming down. The sirens went off several times which means we need to gather in a safe place on case of a tornado. Well our safe place is in our small half bathroom under our stairs. So you can imagine how it looks with me, Thayne and the three kids huddled in the bathroom. Thank goodness it never lasted more than ten minutes.

The potty training Josie is always an adventure. At church on Sunday she pooped her panties in nursery and it was dripping everywhere. I was so embarrassed :). We wiped her down and changed her clothes and sent her back to nursery. The only clothes we had in the car for her, were a pair of pants and shirt but she didn't care.
We took Josie and Indi to get their 3 year old and 18 month old shots yesterday. Josie was so bugged that I had to hold her hands down that she didn't even cry when they gave her the shot. She just kept saying "get off me mommy". It was a little more traumatic for Indi. Her face turned blue because she was crying so hard she wouldn't breathe so I had to breathe in her face. It took her a while to settle down.

Thayne is working hard to get ready for finals. He comes home tired and ready to play with the kids. Jaed already has a game picked out that they are going to play when "daddy" gets home.

The weather is gettting better here. I took the kids to the park yesterday. They ran around and laughed. It was good to be outside again.

After I dropped Jaed and Josie off at school, I played basketball with other stay at home moms while Indi played with all the other kids. It was a lot of fun for both of us. We try and do this every tuesday for some social interaction and exercise.

Making Progress......I think (potty training)

jaed and Josie had a great day at school today. Josie even went potty at school. She hasn't asked for a diaper again (since the night before last). I just have to keep remembering to be patient with her :).
It was raining a lot yesterday, and everytime Josie looked out the window she started singing "Rain, rain, go away....". It was so cute.
While the older two were at school, I took Indi to the library for story/music time. She really liked it. When the music was on Indi was up twirling and dancing and falling and jumping back up to do it again. She was the only child dancing around. She was pretty mad when we had to leave to go pick up Josie and Jaed.
My sister, Becki, bought Josie a game called "Pretty, pretty princess" for her birthday. You have to be the first person to have a necklace, earings, ring and bracelet on to get the crown. Well I came downstairs and found Thayne, Jaed and Josie playing the game. Thayne had one earing on and a bracelet. Jaed had two earings, the necklace and a ring on, and Josie was trying to grab as much stuff as she could and put it on. It looked so chaotic to me, but they seemed to be enjoying themselves. Thayne is always so good to play games with them.

Long Day

It was a long day today. Josie and Jaed went to school and it was uneventful for both of them, which always makes us happy. Both teachers said that they were good. On the way to school this morning there was a car next to us with an older lady driving. Josie yelled "mommy, there's a grandma". It made me chuckle. She says that about every old lady we see. The funny thing about it is that neither of her two grandmas are very old and they certainly don't look like these elderly women she's calling "grandma".
Josie was torturing Indi most of the day today. Jaed was trying to referee. Josie decided that she didn't want Indi anywhere near here so when Indi would get close Josie kicked her pushed her away. I made her apologize every time and she would do it but you could tell she really didn't mean it. She certainly is our fireball with an extreme attitude. I'm sure she takes after her dad :).
I put a pair of jeans on Jaed this morning. They were a little tight but not enough to cut of his breathing. Well when I picked him up from school, the teachers-aid stopped me in the hall and said "Jaed wanted me to button his pants after going to the restroom, but I couldn't get them buttoned. You may want to invest in bigger pants". So I guess he's ready to go to the next size. Hopefully with being more active this summer he'll trim down a little. We'll see I guess.
Josie brought me a diaper this evening and told me she didn't want her "panties" on. She took her panties off and said she wanted the diaper. I kept trying to tell her that the diapers were for Indi but that just made her mad. She wouldn't put the panties back on. So I've sacrificed two weeks of my life potty training her and she's just decided she's not interested in it anymore. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now. Hopefully tomorrow will be a new day and she'll think panties are cool again.
I think Indi is quite lonely when I dropped Jaed and Josie off at school. I enjoy the one on one time with her, but I don't know if she does. I think it's to quiet for her :).

Adventure after adventure!

Thayne and I used to talk about how much we miss our dogs, because they would clean up after the kids when they ate. Well...this morning all three kids were eating Cheerios at the table and making a HUGE mess. Cheerios were all over the floor. I had decided to leave the Cheerios on the floor for a while (sweeping up wet Cheerios is a disaster). I finished up the dishes and was ready to sweep. I walked into the dining room and saw Indi bending over shoving Cheerios in her mouth. There were hardly any Cheerios left on the floor. She has become our human vacuum :)!

Josie has started to use her cast as a weapon now. (She broke her elbow about two weeks ago. We're not sure how it happened. She was in her room playing and then started to cry. When I got to her room, she was laying on the floor holding her arm saying, "my arm, mommy". After 5 hours in the ER, they announce that she fractured her elbow.) Today, Jaed took a toy away from Josie. She got mad and swung her cast at him and hit Jaed in the head. Poor Jaed....he fell to the floor screaming and Josie had the biggest smile on her face. She grabbed the toy and walked off.

I did aerobics this morning. Jaed said he wanted to do it with me. That lasted all of about 2 minutes. Each of them would come stand by me and try it for 30 seconds and then go play. Indi was the one who was really getting jazzed by the music. She was dancing all over, putting her arms in the sky and then down low. She even started shaking her body around. I pleasantly entertained while exercising.

Josie did better with the potty training today. She only had two accidents, but one was a BIG one. I wished Thayne was home to take care of it.

Thayne is getting ready for finals now. He is starting to stay later at school and not getting home until after 7 p.m.. Jaed misses him the most because Thayne and Jaed have a night time routine that Jaed counts on every night. I'm not a good substitute, I guess. I don't read the stories like "daddy". But we'll manage since we know it won't last for very long.

Here we are!

Well I thought it would be good to start a bog of our family since we live so far away from our family and friends. Just a little back ground:
We live in midwest where Thayne attends law school. He's almost done with his first year. YEAH!!!

Jaed, is our oldest son and he just turned four years old in October and attends a private preschool (thanks to his grandma and grandpa warner). He truly is enjoying it, and it is amazing the things he has learned.

Josie, is our middle child (right now) and she just turned three in March. She started preschool last month. She goes to a preschool that focuses completely on speech. She has a small speech delay and they are working with her at preschool. Whenever I show up to get her she cries and throws herself on the ground. I think she enjoys it!

Indi, our baby, is 22 months old and extremely active. She is in to everything and can't believe she would get in trouble for anything. She always has a look of surprise when she is disciplined. She loves to cuddle and give tons of kisses. Jaed watches over her a lot. When she cries, Jaed will say "Mommy, I think Indi wants me.".

Thayne is loving law school. He's learning so many new things and is constantly sharing them with me. Thayne found a great summer internship here in Bloomington. He will be working with the public defenders office. He will get school credit for it as well as learning how to put the law into practice.

I helped start the first MOMS Club (www.momsclub.org) here in Bloomington and am thrilled to see so many stay at home moms here in this small town. The club is made up of stay at home moms and it gives us a chance to get together and chat while are children play and have fun. I also belong to a BUNKO (dice game) group that meets once a month.

I am going to try and keep a daily journal for our family. Please feel free and leave comments.
