Embarrassing moment #100
I thought I might be getting out of the embarrassing moments that your kids put you in because it hasn't happened for a bit but now I realized that the older they get the bigger the embarrassment is. I was at the checkout (at Target) and our cashier was a bit heavy and had really long hair. Josie was preoccupied for a bit but then looked up at the cashier and asked, "Momma is that a boy or a girl?". I seriously just wanted to laugh because I knew the minute she said that, that it was going to be a very uncomfortable moment. I tried to distract her and said, "The baby on the box (of diapers) is boy I think. What do you think? What color of clothes is he wearing?".....yeah...like that was going to work. She immediately said, "No, Momma not the baby! That person right there!" and pointed directly at the cashier. Awwwwwwwwwwwwww.......I turned to her and said, "Josie he is a boy and it's not nice to point your finger at people." She looked extremely confused and the whole time I was saying in my head, "Oh, please just let it go!". But, no, that wasn't going to happen. Not with Josie. She was going to get to the bottom of this mystery. She said, "Momma he has girl hair. Boys can't have girl's hair so I think it's a girl!". I couldn't hold it in. I had to laugh. So here I was snickering while my daughter was telling a guy that he was a girl. What kind of mom am I? I did turned to her, when I got myself somewhat under control, and said, "Josie, some boys have long hair. He is a boy and it's okay that he has long hair.". Again, not an answer she liked. She spoke right up and said, "No, he is a girl because he has girl hair and girl boobies!".......AWWWWWWWWW.......can you believe that! I do have to admit that he did have "man-boobs" as Thayne calls them. But I was mortified. I had never made eye contact with him during this whole conversation until now and he was beat red and probably dying as much as I was. I could not wipe the smile/giggle off my face which made the situation even worse. I told Josie that it wasn't nice to say things like that and then I felt like I had say something him. So what did I say? I should have just stuck with "Sorry for my daughters outbursts", but no......not me. I said, "I"m really sorry that she embarrassed you. If it counts for anything you look like a guy to me!". At that point I grabbed my stuff and left. I don't think I'll be going back to Target for a bit or if I do, I will stay clear of his register.

Hobbies
Aren't hobbies great! I have lots of hobbies but one in particular that I am a bit obsessed about is card making and other paper crafts. I started this hobby about 4 years ago and every time I sit down to "create" I become more obsessed with it. It isn't a cheap hobby but the feelings I get when I've finished a project or card is worth a million dollars. And then, to be able and send it to someone and know they are getting a homemade card from me, makes me excited as well. Thayne has allowed me to indulge in my hobby and sometimes I wonder if he regrets it because it can be a bit expensive but he never says anything......well maybe his eyes roll sometimes when he sees a bill but that's about it :).
Anyways, my point in explaining this is that I've started another blog that is just for my cards and other craft projects. I've seen so many of these kinds of blogs that I decided that I really want to do it as well. So click here to go to my other blog!

Vacation
I've been back from my mini vacation for over a week now and it feels like I never went. I hate how that happens. It goes by way to fast. Kai and I flew to Washington state to visit my sister while Thayne stayed home with the other three kids. I enjoyed every minute I spent with my sister and her family. Her and her four boys entertained and took care of Kai which made it even more relaxing for me! We did crafts, shopped and just relaxed. I even finished a huge book while I was there.
I spoke with Thayne several times a day and was happy to hear that he was doing a GREAT job playing Mr. Mom. He did tons of activities with them and they all slept in our bed every night. At the end of the eight days, Thayne was pooped and worn out but still being a great dad. He did say to me once on the phone, "Now I understand why you're so grumpy sometimes when I come home at night!". I think that was a good thing......but not sure if I like that fact that he called me grumpy....oh well. He did admit to me that he let the discipline go out the window which made it hard for me when I came home and tried to enforce the rules. I couldn't believe how naughty they were. But after about two days, I was the queen of the house again and rules were obeyed....well as much as they were before! I do have say that after the first day I was home I was ready to pack up and go back to my sister's house....but the next day was better!
Here is me and my big sister. While I was at her house one of her friend's husband asked us who was older.....I couldn't believe it!! Just for the record, I'm ten years younger than her (sorry to make a public announcement Beck!)

My sister was so happy to cuddle, hold, feed, and change Kai the whole time we were there. It only took about a day or two for Kai to warm up to her!

We made great traveling partners. The traveling time was long with lay overs and plane rides but she was a trooper and smiled at whomever spoke to her.

Christmas Pictures
Once again, I found matching dresses for the girls!! I think this might be the last year that is possible because Josie is moving out of the toddler clothes into the young lady clothes. I can't believe it! Here's the pictures that we sent out in our Christmas Cards!!
I could not get Josie to do a different face! She was sticking with that face, so I guess I'll be happy that she's smiling even if it's forced. I dont' think her eyes could get any bigger ...hehehe

Isn't he a handsome fellow! Sorry the picture is so bright.

Kaia's sisters love her so much. And, I think she loves the attention (when it's not being pushed, laid on, or dragged!).
